IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
G.O.A.T COATS originated in 2016, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The concept of jersey-themed sports coats and bomber jackets emerged from Dave's dual passion for sports and fashion.
Dave's affinity for sports traces back to his childhood, where he engaged in various sports and developed into a devoted Chicago sports fan. This fervor persisted into adulthood, leading him to become a season ticket holder for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Cubs. Wearing team gear, especially favorite player jerseys, became a significant part of the stadium experience. This inspired Dave to create G.O.A.T COATS, offering a stylish means to represent your team not just at games but also at weddings, events, or outings with friends.
Recognizing the potential of his idea, Dave enlisted Gary Wiggins and Keith Peterson to help turn the dream into reality. Gary and Keith shared Dave's passion for sports and fashion, and their friendship, forged in junior high during the 7th-grade basketball team, endured over the years. With Gary and Keith’s extensive experience in the hospitality industry, known for excellent customer service, both have become an integral part of the team, essential for bringing this vision to life.
The past four years has focused on developing a product we could 100% stand behind.

DAVE
Sports Career Highlight: 1992 MVP of my baseball little league. Went on to win several more.
Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, I was blessed to grow up watching the 🐐 himself, Michael Jordan.
I went to the University of Iowa and received my Masters from Boston College in Healthcare Administration.
HOWEVER, I always knew I wanted to do something in the sports field, which is why I created G.O.A.T. COATS.
Going to a game or a nice dinner with my family and friends are two of my favorite things to do. This brand has given me a way to wear something fashionable to both occasions. I’m excited to see where this brand takes me in the sports and fashion world!

GARY
Sports Career Highlight: Always beating Dave and Buzz on the golf course.
From a young age sports played a major role in my life. From the time I could walk a basketball has been in my hands. After playing basketball throughout high school and college, I found a passion for the hospitality industry. 15 years later I’m currently the Regional Director for a restaurant group and now overseeing 8 restaurants throughout the country. Sports and fashion have always been a passion of mine, by creating GC I’m able to follow both dreams. We wanted to create a product that was sleek and still represented the die hard sports fan in every person.

Sports Career Highlight: Chicago kid, here.
As the son of a college basketball coach I have loved sports longer than I can even remember, played basketball in HS and college and currently coach for Barrington’s youth basketball program.
I have developed a love for fashion because it is such a unique way to express ourselves.
Working with sports and fashion truly is a dream come true. I've know Dave and Gary since we were hoopin' as kids and I'm so grateful to be on this journey with my brothers Dave and Gary.
